‘Race 3’ is the third film in the popular thriller and action franchise starring, Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandes, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem. It was produced by Salman Khan Films & Tips Industries Ltd, and is one of the hottest Bollywood films of 2018, with advance booking estimates predicting it will break records.
Salman Khan returned to Abu Dhabi for the shoot just a few months after he finished filming ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ – one of India’s biggest box office hits - in the Emirate, which is testament to the confidence studios have in twofour54’s proven capabilities in delivering large, complex productions successfully.
The film, directed by Remo D’Souza, also marked the return of leading Hollywood stunt director Tom Struthers, who relied on the help of the UAE Armed Forces for the exciting action sequences. Struthers also worked on ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ last year. Military support for ‘Race 3’ included a Blackhawk helicopter, Oshkosh trucks, NIMR military vehicles, and Humvees.
twofour54 provided full production services as well as the support of its Government and Travel Services department and four interns also worked on the project. Salman Khan Films and Tips Industries Ltd. is also taking advantage of the 30% rebate on production spend in the Emirate from Abu Dhabi Film Commission.
‘Race 3’ is the fifth Bollywood movie to be shot in Abu Dhabi, following ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘Dishoom’, ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘Baby’. It is also one of three major international productions to film in the Emirate this year, along with the latest in Tom Cruise’s high-octane action franchise ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’, and ‘Saaho’, starring pan-India star Prabhas.
