The famous Indian actor Rishi Kapoor died at the age of 67, in a hospital in Mumbai, after a struggle with cancer, German news agency NDTV reported.
Rishi Kapoor is one of the most famous Indian movie stars, and his most prominent films are "Bobby" and "Chandani".
His friend and famous actor Amitabh Bachchan wrote a tweet saying, "Rishi Kapoor is gone, he's passed away, I'm broken."
The two participated together in a number of films, the most famous of which is "Moon Akbar Anthony."
Prime Minister J Narendra, actor Rishi Kapoorvi, blamed the tweet and described him as "a treasure trove of talent."
His family issued a statement saying, "Our dear Rishi Kapu died in hospital after a two-year battle with leukemia. Doctors and medical staff said he continued to make them laugh until the end."
Rishi was married to actress Nitu Singh, and they have a daughter named Redma Kapoor and a son named Ranbir Kapoor, who is one of the most prominent stars of Indian cinema today.
