The arrest of Asala in Beirut in the case of drug abuse

Asala Nasri was arrested at Rafik Hariri airport in Beirut while leaving Lebanese territory after finding about 2 grams of cocaine in her makeup bag in a plastic box. She was detained for questioning.

According to Sky News Arabia, Asala denied her knowledge of the existence of drugs, and said that this substance does not belong to her, and charged one of the people involved in the case, especially not the first time Asala was subjected to harassment at Beirut airport for the purpose of abuse.

Lebanese press reports said that the preliminary investigation with Asala ended, and was released conditional on her residence in Beirut until the end of the medical examination and analysis, to ensure that the drugs are not abused, because the amount seized with them under the charge of abuse and personal use.

The same site said that Asala underwent medical analysis and examination, and found that she was taking drugs. However, no statement was made to confirm the authenticity of this statement. The website pointed out that Asala was disturbed by the repetition of the incidents that were offensive to her and her reputation whenever she visited Lebanon due to her political positions.

Asala published her first photograph after her release on board the plane on her official account at Instagram. She hung on the picture saying, "Praise be to God." The pioneers of social networking sites were photographed with her husband Tarek El-Erian and her brother Anas Nasri while they were on a plane bound for Cairo.
