Egyptian news vision: Screen International has announced the emerging Jordanian Actress Tara Abboud among its selection for the 4th Arab Stars of Tomorrow 2020, introduced within the 42nd Cairo International Film Festival.

This comes after a few weeks of selecting Tara as one of the talents featured by MAD Rising Celebrity initiative.

This marks the second time for Screen International to announce its selection for Arab Stars of Tomorrow within Cairo Industry Days, held on the margins of Cairo International Film Festival.

Cairo Industry Days provides an important space that brings together filmmakers from the Arab world and across the globe to promote and develop the art of storytelling worldwide.

The Arab Stars of Tomorrow is selected by Screen International’s Middle East correspondent Melanie Goodfellow, in collaboration with Editor Matt Mueller and critic Finn Halligan.

Launched by MAD Solutions, MAD Rising Celebrity is an initiative born to help aspiring Arab acting talents find their rightful place amidst the filmmaking industry through the company’s PR and marketing tools.

It is launched through MAD Solutions' subsidiary MAD Celebrity which has been harboring more than 50 of the Arab world's A-list stars in the entertainment industry, offering them its endorsement services in more than 400 works, and escorted them to more than 100 film festivals and high-end events.

Tara Abboud is an emerging Jordanian actress who started her career taking part in various short films, including director Motaz Matar’s film Min Wara' Albab and Tima Shomali’s film Log In.

She landed her first leading role in director Amjad Al Rasheed’s Princess of the Mountains (2009) alongside actor Amer Alkhuffash, which was followed by 12 Centimeters film by Zied Khaled and the award-winning film Hayah (2019) by director Leen Awad.

Tara introduced a remarkable performance in the Jordanian TV series Oboor that premiered in Ramadan 2019.

Her astounding performance got her recommended by superstar Saba Mubarak to play the leading role in Egyptian director Mohamed Diab's upcoming film Amira that is co-produced by Palestinian director/producer Hany Abu-Assad and Egyptian writer/producer Mohamed Hefzy (Film Clinic).

The film is distributed in the Arab world by MAD Solutions, while Paris-based Pyramide International has acquired international rights to the film’s distribution.
