Moroccan cyclist, Mahdi Shoukry, has retracted from the decision to join an Israeli team, after local and international media pressure, as he intended to professionalize within an Israeli team.

Mehdi Shoukry had made this decision after he felt that officials in Morocco had been let down and had changed his direction towards France, where he had decided to join the club "Bizontin", competing in local competitions.

The French specialized website "be-celt" confirmed that the 23-year-old cyclist submitted his resignation from the Israeli "Startap Nation" club a few days after joining him, and his resignation came to "family reasons" according to the same source.

"Mehdi Shoukry is one of the African talents for cycling, we are delighted to be with us, we will have the opportunity to reach the pinnacle of professionalism in a calm environment," said Pascal Aurlandi, director of the French club.
