During the Heads of States Summit which was held in Kigali on 14th May, 2019 at Transform Africa, it was resolved to entrust Tunisia to put together an event, dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship and the promotion of the talents of African Youths to the eyes of the world, then was created Afric'Up, This decision placed Afric'Up at the core of the Smart Africa Alliance’s agenda and strategy, aiming to support the emergence of future African champions by promoting ICT skills, creativity and success stories.

Afric’Up – Africa Startup Summit in Tunis, will take place on 24th & 25th September 2019 marks the return of the largest event related to innovation and African Tech, under the auspices of the Tunisian Government, in partnership with Smart Africa Alliance, GIZ & Make IT.

This year, conferences and workshops led by more than 150 speakers and renowned investors under the main theme "Smart Cities & Open Innovation in Africa, what opportunities for startups? ».

Certainly, Afric’Up’s 2nd edition will offer a special and rich program that promotes discovery and learning, through the many workshops (more than 30) led by international mentors, aiming mainly to equip and to promote a culture of innovation and collective intelligence, shared growth, and experimentation in African start-ups. . Besides, Afric'Up, will launch several challenges, actions, in addition to the first Makeathon in Africa, there will be a 3D/VR contest to imagine the African city of the future, a Startup Pitch to choose 25 promising startups, a Startup Stage to showcase 50 startups to international investors, a competition for the best mobile e-commerce application African Awards (ECMAA Awards), a Beach Party and many other unique surprises Our desire is to associate promising African startups with the major international groups, to encourage them to open innovation, new technologies and collaborative best practices mainly in the fields of energy, transport, environment, agriculture and health for the future Smart Cities of the continent.

Collaboration and sharing will be the flagsheets, with more than 20 African Ministers expected, investors, multinationals, incubators, experts and start-ups who demonstrated their will to join too.

Afric'Up is certainly, the space for professionals and enthusiasts of African High Tech who want to be inspired, learn and network in a relaxed and offbeat atmosphere.

Afric'Up endeavors to become the platform, the meeting place for sharing tomorrow's technologies and to question the models of innovation on the African continent.

Our objective is to create an entrepreneurial dynamic, to encourage collaborations, exchanges in order to enhance skills, success stories, bring out the new champions of African digital and will celebrate women' as "digital makers".

Media coverage will be provided on an international scale with the presence of the press, television, African and global social networks.

With more than 300 Startups expected to Afric'Up is undoubtedly the essential space to connect African startups who want to connect with other startups and VCs, Business Angels and investors from Africa, and accelerate their growth.

Through Deal Room, Startup Stage, Meetup and different other spaces offered during the summit.

Our desire at Afric'Up is to make new players in the digital economy dream, innovate, encourage and support, but also to accelerate the dissemination of know-how and facilitate the emergence of new African solutions while creating bridges between the major global innovation poles.

In addition, Afric'Up wishes to highlight all the continent's digital ecosystems, and become the unifying event, catalyst for all the ecosystems of East, West, East, Central, Southern and No Afric'Up Africa will be this technological crossroads, a place for exchange, sharing and networking between English, French, Portuguese and Arabic Africa.

This Second edition of, Afric'Up gives the opportunity to 80 African startups (30 Afric'Up Pitch and 50 Afric'Up Startup Stage) or from the diaspora to be invited, all expenses will be covered in Tunis.

The lucky ones selected after a call for applications will have access to all the events, the opportunity to meet investment funds but also clients and partners. Applications must be submitted in French or English.
