Dubai United Arab Emirates:-- The engine of a Boeing 777 aircraft belonging to United Airlines burned out, prompting the "Boeing" company to issue a decision, to which the airlines were informed, to suspend all flights of the same type, pending the Federal Aviation Administration's report after examination.
Boeing's decision to halt flight included 69 777s in service and 59 in storage, powered by Pratt & Whitney 4000-112 engines, until the Federal Aviation Administration determines the appropriate inspection protocol.
The Federal Aviation Administration stated that it would issue emergency instructions requiring intensive inspections of Boeing 777s, which are powered by Pratt & Tenny 4000-112 engines.
The "United" company had said that it had temporarily suspended all flights of its 24 Boeing 777s, which are equipped with "Pratt & Whitney 4000" engines.
United Airlines said in a statement that there were no reports of injuries on board its flight number 328, which was carrying 231 passengers and a crew of ten.
The Broomfield, Colorado Police Department published photos of flying parts from a Boeing 777-200. However, there were no reports of any casualties on the ground.
