Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Daily Times: - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has ordered to prepare for another scenario to deal with the crisis of the "Evergiven" delinquent ship in the Suez Canal.

President El-Sisi's order is to reduce the tonnage of the ship, which amounts to about 224,000 tons while its length is 400 meters.

The container ship "Evergiven" was blocking the canal, and rescue teams were hoping to float it using locomotives and dredging works without reducing its cargo.

The head of the Suez Canal Authority stated that the efforts to float the giant Panamanian container ship, EVER GIVEN, are continuing around the clock by carrying out dredging works during the day, and making tugging maneuvers with tugs at times appropriate to tidal conditions.

The head of the authority explained that the results of the dredging works by means of dredging "Mashhour", one of the authority's dredges, have so far reached 27 thousand cubic meters of sand, at a depth of 18 meters, taking into account the occurrence of landslides from the bottom of the ship to the areas that are being dredged.

Dredging work continues to remove the sand surrounding the bow of the vessel to facilitate the floatation process of the vessel, along with pulling maneuvers by the authority's tugs at times commensurate with the tide and the direction of the winds.

The head of the authority indicated that the tension maneuvers were carried out by 12 tugboats operating from three different directions, as the two tugs “Barakah 1” and “Izzat Adel” tighten the bow of the ship, while 6 tugs pushed the stern of the ship southward, and 4 other tugs were pushing backwards. Ship southward.

Two other tugboats set off to the Egyptian Suez Canal to help liberate the container ship - which is the size of a skyscraper - which has been stuck for days in the vital waterway.

This comes despite the fact that two major international shipping companies are increasingly diverting their ships to the Cape of Good Hope route, fearing that the liberation process will take longer.
