Nasser Amin, the lawyer of the Annan family, issued a statement saying he would take legal action against Genina, asserting that his statements were incorrect and affected the legal position of his client.
"There are documents and documents from people outside the country condemning leaders in the army and the current authority will emerge if Annan is killed," Genina said.
Annan said the statements were aimed at "igniting the country and provoking sedition while fighting the armed forces terrorism in the Sinai."
The Egyptian army issued a statement in response to Genina's remarks saying, "In the light of what Hisham Genina said about the retention of the team, Sami Annan, documents and evidence claiming to contain the state's condemnation and leadership, and threatening to publish them in the event of any legal action against the mentioned, Constitutes a crime aimed at raising doubts about the state and its institutions, at a time when the armed forces are fighting the homeland in the Sinai to root out the roots of terrorism.
"The armed forces will use all the rights guaranteed by the constitution and the law to protect national security and preserve their honor and dignity, and they will refer the matter to the competent investigative bodies to take legal action before those mentioned," the statement said.
