Following the assassination attempt on Palestinian Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah and intelligence chief in Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior and National Security in the Gaza Strip, Iyad al-Bazm, said that a number of suspects were arrested and investigations are underway to reach the perpetrators.

He explained that the visit of Hamdallah to Gaza will be completed as planned and that the security services are investigating the nature of the explosion.

Fatah holds Hamas fully responsible

A member of the Fatah Central Committee, Minister Hussein Sheikh said that the Fatah movement holds Hamas fully responsible for the attempt to bomb the convoy of the Prime Minister and the head of intelligence.

"Hamas bears full responsibility for this big criminal act and it will set a very dangerous precedent," he said. "Many decisions and many policies will be taken and Hamas will be held accountable.

The Palestinian presidency also strongly condemned the attack on the Prime Minister's convoy and blamed Hamas fully.

The Presidency said in its statement that the attack on the Prime Minister's convoy was aimed at the efforts and steps taken by President Mahmoud Abbas to end the division and achieve reconciliation, stressing that the person who carried out this attack is directly serving the objectives of the Israeli occupation, .

The Presidency confirmed President Mahmoud Abbas's intention to hold a series of meetings within the next few days to take appropriate decisions on this dangerous development.

Miladnov holds Hamas responsible for the government's work

UN envoy Nikolay Miladnov condemned the attack and called for an immediate investigation into the incident and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

"To fully empower the Palestinian Authority in Gaza, Hamas has a responsibility to ensure that the government can operate in Gaza without fear, intimidation, harassment and violence," Miladnov said.

"I commend the leadership of the prime minister and the continuing efforts to address the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and achieve reconciliation," he said. "Those behind the attack seek to undermine these efforts and destroy the chances of peace and must not be allowed to succeed."

Head of Intelligence: The accused is the one who controls this land

Palestinian intelligence chief Majid Faraj condemned the bombing, which targeted the delegation's convoy, accusing Hamas of responsibility for the bombing.

He said that the accused is the one who controls this land and maintains its security, stressing that the bombing operation was condemned and cowardly and will not affect the national project led by President Mahmoud Abbas.
