Syria: Explosions in Hama targeted Iranian equipment

A series of explosions occurred in the vicinity of Hama airport in Syria, where a major military base had been hit by air strikes on the 29th of last month. Damascus accused Israel of launching the strikes, while sources said that the bombing targeted an Iranian missile system.

The Syrian Observatory said that the explosions occurred "in the warehouses of weapons and fuel for the regime forces at the airport" near the city of Hama.

Preliminary information was also reported about the bombing of the Iranian Air Force's surface-to-air missile systems at the airport.

The official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that "explosions were heard in the vicinity of Hama airport" without giving further details.
