EGYPT AND ETHIOPIA: Do joint relations open up part of the Renaissance dam?

Egypt is still seeking friendly solutions with the Nile Basin, so that it will regain even part of its share in the Nile water, after Israel succeeded in penetrating these countries and turning its face and conspiring against the Egyptian national security.

CAIRO - After the Egyptian president and Ethiopian prime minister agreed to adopt a "common vision", Addis Ababa is expected to respect the right of the two countries to achieve development without compromising the rights of the other side.

To that end, Sissi talked about the interest of the Egyptian private sector to increase its investments in the Ethiopian market, while the Ethiopian official said that his country is committed to "good neighborliness" and does not want to harm the Egyptian people.

An Egyptian presidential statement said that Sisi "held a bilateral talks with the Ethiopian Prime Minister on issues of common concern at the regional and international levels."

At the end of the press conference, President al-Sisi asked the Ethiopian official to echo him in Arabic. "By God and God we will not do any harm to the water in Egypt," and Abi Ahmad did so.

Then Sisi said, "God and God will never hurt you, God willing."

Sissi spoke last month of "breakthrough" in talks with Sudan and Ethiopia over the dam, in conjunction with a meeting of foreign ministers and intelligence officials of the three countries in Addis Ababa.
