Israel saves its relationship with Jordan

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates:-- In order to save its relationship with Jordan, Israel released two Jordanian nationals it had detained, forcing the authorities in Amman to withdraw the Jordanian ambassador in Tel Aviv, saying that he would not return until after their release.

Jordanian citizens, Heba al-Labadi and Abdulrahman Merhi, arrived at their country through the King Hussein Bridge crossing on the Israeli-Jordanian border.

Al-Labadi and Mari were greeted by their families along with ambulance crews to provide medical care due to their health conditions, a delegation from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and many citizens.

Israeli officials claimed that the detainees could not have been released without a green light from the Israeli intelligence service, the Shin Bet, noting that the suspicions against them enabled them to be released under a settlement and as a "goodwill gesture."
