Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Vision Egypt News: The chief Palestinian negotiator and secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Dr. Saeb Erekat, died at the age of 65 after contracting the Corona virus, and was receiving treatment at the Israeli "Hadassah" Hospital in Jerusalem.

He was transferred for treatment to Hadassah Hospital, where he remained in the intensive care unit, after his health condition deteriorated in his home.

Saeb Erekat had lung problems, and about two years ago he underwent a lung transplant surgery in the United States.

The Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Justice Minister in the governments of Israel, Tzipi Livni, and the former US envoy to the Middle East, Jason Greenblatt, mourned him.

Among the other Israeli personalities who expressed their grief and sympathy for the family of the deceased, Erekat was Nitzan Horovitz, head of the left-wing Meretz party, Minister Tzachi Hanegbi, and a former Knesset member, journalist Shelly Yachimovich, who previously worked as the head of the Labor Party, as well as the former MP and journalist Svetlova, in addition to Yossi. Beilin on the "Geneva Initiative".
