The accident of a fuel tanker explosion in Akkar, northern Lebanon, killing at least 20 people, according to the Lebanese Red Cross. It said on Twitter, seven were injured and were taken to a local hospital, and that it is in dire need of blood donors, and hospitals announced that they suffer from a shortage fuel and may have to shut down.
Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri said in a tweet on Twitter: "The Akkar massacre is no different from the Port massacre." Referring to the explosion of the port of Beirut last year, he called on Lebanese officials - including the president - to take responsibility and resign.
"Our hearts tonight are with the people of Al-Talil and Akkar," Gebran Bassil, head of the Free Patriotic Movement Party, said in a tweet on Twitter.
