Dubai, United Arab Emirates: - On the first visit of an Egyptian minister to Israel in five years, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the Egyptian Minister of Energy, Petroleum and Minerals, Tariq Al-Mulla, who arrived in Israel on a working visit.
The meeting was attended by National Security Council advisor Meir Ben Shabat, Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz, Chairman of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company Magdy Galal, Israel's ambassador to Egypt, Princess Oron, and Egypt's ambassador to Israel Khaled Azmy.
In the meeting, Netanyahu told the Egyptian minister: "This is a new era for peace and prosperity in the region with the agreements of Abraham, and this of course began since the historic agreement between Egypt and Israel, but now it has become something that can contribute to improving the economic situation of all peoples of the region."
Netanyahu added, "We are a regional energy center, together we can provide not only our needs, but the needs of many other countries."
He continued, "So, in this spirit of friendship and cooperation, peace and prosperity, I welcome you to Israel - you are welcome."
The Egyptian Minister Mullah responded to Netanyahu and said: “Mr. Prime Minister Netanyahu, thank you for welcoming us and for the invitation. Together with Minister Steinitz, we began years ago to expand cooperation in the energy field, which was strengthened through the establishment of the Mediterranean Gas Forum. I look forward to our discussions, thank you. Again on the reception. "
