The explosion that took place inside the "Saeed Abad" mosque in the city of Khanabad in Kunduz province, northern Afghanistan, led to dozens of deaths and injuries.
Officials in Khanabad, Kunduz province, said that the explosion occurred by a bomb, coinciding with the end of Friday prayers.
A member of the Taliban's cultural and media committee, Muhammad Jalal, described the mosque bombing in Kunduz province as horrific.
He said that the Taliban is committed to taking serious steps to eradicate ISIS terrorists, who have no place in Afghanistan, as he put it.
This is the first attack of its kind in Kunduz province, located on the border with Tajikistan, since the Taliban took control of it in early August 2021.
