Satellite Khalifa Sat will launch into space

Abu Dhabi-The UAE has announced that it will launch the Khalifa Sat satellite into space, the first satellite made in the Gulf state, on October 29, 2018 from Japan.

"In the year of Zayed, the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center announced that on October 29, and from the Tanigashima Space Center in Japan, Khalifa Satellite will launch to embrace space," Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid said on his Twitter account.

The Gulf state hopes to become the ninth country in the world and the first in the Arab world to achieve a program to explore Mars.

The satellite, the third to be produced by the UAE in the near future into orbit around the Earth, includes several Arab innovations and is equipped with a high-resolution camera, equipped with techniques and mechanisms to move the satellite in outer space to provide three-dimensional images.

In 2009, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center launched the Dubai Sat-1 into space, the first satellite for remote sensing; in 2013 it launched the second satellite, the Dubai Sat-2.

Earlier this year, the UAE announced the launch of the first program to select, prepare and send the first four Emirati astronauts on space missions.
