Morocco: Editor in chief arrested for raping a gay man

Egyptian News Vision: - Moroccan authorities arrested the editor-in-chief of the Moroccan newspaper "Akhbar al-Youm" for raping a gay man.

"Reporters Without Borders" Secretary-General, Christophe D'Alloir, accused the Moroccan authorities of fabricating the accusation against the journalist Suleiman Rissouni, and attacked the Moroccan newspapers, prompting the media there to attack him.

Suleiman El Yassouni is a journalist from the Justice and Development Party in Morocco - the Muslim Brotherhood - which controls the majority of parliament in the kingdom.

According to Moroccan media, a gay man accused Rissouni of rape in 2018.

The Secretary-General of Reporters Without Borders described the case - a "conspiracy" and a smear campaign led by media outlets close to the intelligence services against the editor-in-chief of Moroccan "Akhbar Al-Youm".

The young man who was raped belongs to the "LGBT" community, which is a term for gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Moroccan media reported that the gay man was raped at the home of the editor-in-chief of Akhbar Al-Youm, a Moroccan, where he was present in preparation for a documentary film devoted to gay residency in Risuni's wife.
