Egypt, Discovery of new monuments in Minya Governorate

Egypt, Egyptian tourism / Egyptian Antiquities Minister Khalid Al-Anani announced the discovery of eight tombs inside burial wells containing forty stone coffins containing mummies for high priests in the modern state, in addition to more than a thousand small statues and a set of gold and bronze crockery in the region of Tuna mountain in the Western Desert Menia in Upper Egypt.

The minister confirmed that what was discovered is part of the huge effects of this area, noting that it needs years of work to complete the disclosure.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mustafa al-Waziri, that this disclosure dates back to the modern state and the beginning of the Ptolemaic era.

This is the second archaeological discovery in 2018 after the discovery of the tomb of the Priestess Hetbt in the area of ​​the pyramids of Giza beginning in February 2018.
