She said Andrew also assaulted her around the same time at Epstein's home in Manhattan, and on Epstein's private island in the US Virgin Islands.
Epstein committed suicide in a Manhattan prison in August 2019, while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Virginia Joffrey's attorneys said in a court filing in Manhattan: They sent the civil suit to Prince Andrew's attorney, in Los Angeles, Andrew Breitler, and under federal regulations the Duke of York will have 21 days to respond; Otherwise, he may be sentenced in absentia.
Joffrey's lawyers said earlier: They also informed Andrew of the lawsuit, according to "Reuters".
Andrew and his lawyers have strongly denied Joffrey's allegations, knowing that the 61-year-old prince has not been formally charged.
