Stealing a rare gold version of a model spacecraft that landed on the moon in 1969

Police in the town of Wapakonita, the United States, received a report on the theft of a rare gold version of the model of the spacecraft that landed on the moon in 1969 from the Neil Armstrong Space Museum in Ohio.

When the police arrived at the museum found the precious piece had been lost.

The model of the 5-inch spacecraft was a gift to Armstrong in Paris shortly after he landed on the moon, becoming the first astronaut to set foot on it.

Cartier made 3 copies of this model and assigned one to all members of the Apollo 11 mission.

Police said: "The value of such a model is priceless," and the FBI and the Ohio Office of Crime Investigation have provided assistance to local police to investigate the incident.
