Armed robbery against the belongings of Mahmoud Darwish

 Unknown persons stole a personal bag belonging to Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish from his brother's house in the village of Jadida, near Acre in the Galilee, north of Israel.

4 masked thieves broke into the house and managed to enter a room where the bag was under the threat of a pistol that was in their possession, took it and then fled.

The stolen bag contains texts written by the poet in his hand, precious pens and gifts from world leaders, as well as a large sum of money, amounting to 200,000 shekels, about 57,000 dollars.

The family of the Palestinian poet contacted the Israeli police in order to arrest the thieves, confirming in turn that "they are still working to reveal their identities, and that the investigations are still ongoing."

Mahmoud Darwish is one of the most important Palestinian and Arab poets whose name was associated with the poetry of the revolution and the homeland.
