In his speech, M. Mohamed Zinelabidine, Minister of Cultural Affairs paid a touching tribute to the artist Rim Banna and the journalist Khemaies Arfaoui who both devoted their entire life to the militancy and the commitment in favor of freedom. This tribute, the Ministry said, is a recognition to those who have left us while highlighting the bravery and militancy of Rim Banna and the professional and human qualities of late Khemaies Arfaoui. Mr. Mohamed Zinelabidine also praised the quality of the relations existing between his department and the National Union of Tunisian Journalists, which are part of a shared vision for future cultural actions and the role now devolved to the media in supporting the creation and the creators.
M. Neji Bghouri, President of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists, mentioned in his speech the ties of friendship between Rim Banna and the Tunisian journalists: "Rim Banna is a friend of Tunisia, of the journalists and the SNJT which she supported in its most critical moments, "he said, adding:" We pay tribute to this militant artist but also to the journalist Khemaies Arfaoui member of the executive office of the SNJT, a friend of all journalists and a symbol of the national press. . His memory will forever be engraved in the annals of the free and independent press as a committed and militant actor".
Then it was to the band "Hess" to take the stage with the icon of the Tunisian alternative song Lobna Noomen in a moving show where the songs were drawn from several repertoires including the traditional one. Lobna Nooman has interpreted several Tunisian traditional songs with a new musical distribution that valorized this heritage such as: "On this earth", "The seller of jasmine", "Nejma", "Keb El Foulara", "Gharib", "Touba" and only one song of her repertoire "Ya lil" with which she ended the musical part of the evening.
The second part of the evening was reserved for the awarding of the best the cultural press productions. Trophies were awarded to the winners notably by M. Mohamed Zinelabidine, Minister of Cultural Affairs, Neji Bghouri President of SNJT, Iyed and Adem , the two sons of the late Khemaies Arfaoui, and the members of the Jury of this competition.
