Fuego volcano leaves dozens dead and hundreds missing in Guatemala

The eruption of the Volcano volcano in Guatemala has continued for two days, killing 75 people and losing 200 others. The lava and ash eruptions have led to the evacuation of the 4,500 people near the volcano.

Director of relief operations for the National Coordinating Committee for Natural Disaster Management (CONRID), said Tuesday that 192 people with names and places of residence were "missing" since Sunday. The volcano eruption also killed 46 people and evacuated 2,771 people.

The increase in volcanic activity led to panic in the city of Escuintla near the volcano, which is 3763 meters high. The city is 35 kilometers southwest of the capital. Their inhabitants were quick to leave their homes with their cars, causing chaos.
