The overthrow of a man escapes spiders from Malaysia to Singapore

A man named Tam Jia Meng, 34, has been charged with keeping a large spider in his house after he was ousted during the start-up of spiders smuggling from Malaysia to Singapore in January 2018.

As he was driving from Malaysia to Singapore and routine inspection of the car, six large spiders wrapped in hair were spotted in individual plastic containers in a bag on the back seat of the car.

A subsequent investigation into Tam's habitat found that there were 92 additional asteroids, which were confiscated and placed under the auspices of the Singapore Wildlife Refuge.

It was unclear why the man kept several of these spiders at his home.

The statement said that Tam was fined for keeping and trading illegal wildlife species.

The Singapore authorities have warned against the illegal importation of live animals because they may transmit diseases to the population, fuel the demand for illegal trade in wild organisms and severely affect their numbers.
