China, former international police chief Ming Hongwei accused of bribery

Abu Dhabi, Dubai, UAE, Chinese authorities are investigating with former international police chief Ming Hongwei on charges of bribery and exploitation of influence, as head of Interpol in profiting.

Ming Hongwei was stripped of membership of the People's Consultative Conference, which is mandated to advise the country's parliament.

Ming's wife had previously announced his disappearance since he went to China on a short trip, and Interpol announced his resignation without being reached or where he had been held so far.

Ming, 64, took over as INTERPOL's president in 2016 amid human rights concerns that China would seek to use his post to track down its political opponents.
