Find the wreckage of the Indonesian plane belonging to "Lion Air"

Abu Dhabi, Jakarta : Rescue crews found the wreckage of a passenger plane belonging to the Lion Air and personal belongings of passengers, which landed during a flight from the Indonesian capital Jakarta to the city of Banque Penang on the island of Sumatra.

The watchtowers lost contact with the plane 13 minutes after taking off, but a boat leaving the capital port saw the plane fall.

The Indonesian Ministry of Transport said the plane was carrying 188 people, including crew members.

The Boeing 737 Max-8 was flying from Jakarta heading south-west and then diverted to the northeast before disappearing over the Java Sea not far from the coast.

A spokesman for the Indonesian Civil Aviation Administration, Johannes Harry Douglas, announced that the JT-610 flight had disappeared from radar screens at 6:20 am local time, after taking off from Jakarta airport on an internal flight.
