US president may deny children of immigrants US citizenship

Dubai, United States: US President Donald Trump may deny the children of American-born immigrants a US citizenship by considering issuing an executive order to deny children born in the United States to non-US parents or illegal immigrants US citizenship.

Trump said in an interview with the news site "Akisos" that his advisers assured him that the issuance of such action among the powers of the head of state.

Most experts believe that the constitutional provision on the right to grant citizenship to children born on American territory can not be revoked without the approval of Congress.

He believed that such a decision would require a constitutional amendment, but he discovered that it was possible for the Head of State to issue an executive order in that regard.

Under Article 14 of the US Constitution, "all persons born in or in the United States of America and under its jurisdiction are citizens of the United States and citizens of the State in which they reside."

Any legal challenge would prompt national courts to consider what would be the step described as one of Trump's most sweeping actions.
