Tunisia: Dancing and singing over graves

Egyptian News Vision: The Tunisian authorities opened a search in a video shared by social media activists, including a wedding ceremony held in a cemetery in the ancient city of Mahdia, 205 km south of Tunis.

The ceremony was held in the maqam of the guardian, Sidi Gaber, in Burj Al-Ras, Mahdia, which infuriated the Facebook activists, and described what happened as a "scandal."

The video showed a group of women dancing and singing, while the audience sat on the graves instead of chairs, which is a violation of the sanctity of the dead and graves, and called for a speedy investigation into the matter.

The Public Prosecution in Mahdia announced the opening of a forensic investigation on charges of violating the sanctity of graves, and the Judicial Police of Mahdia pledged to search the matter.
