Baron Empain Palace in Cairo begins to receive visitors

Egyptian News Vision: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi opened the Baron Empain Palace after the completion of the two-year restoration process, a palace inspired by Indian architecture constructed by the Belgian millionaire Baron Edward Empain, "September 20, 1852 - July 22, 1929", at the end of the nineteenth century.

The restoration process affected the garden and the old Heliopolis tram car park, which are displayed in the garden, and the various halls of the palace and basement, which will be converted into a school to spread the archaeological awareness of children, the electronic control room and the palace insurance system.

This is the first complete restoration of the Baron Palace, at a cost of more than 100 million pounds, of which approximately 15 million are from Belgium and the rest are from the Egyptian state.

The palace will become an exhibition that narrates the history of the Heliopolis district in cooperation with the Belgian embassy in Cairo and civil society associations in Egypt, by implementing the project to re-employ the palace.

The palace will include a variety of photos, archival documents, illustrations, maps, and addresses for the history of Heliopolis neighborhood (Heliopolis and Al-Mataria) across different ages, in addition to its most important heritage features, and a variety of pictures, maps, documents and films that tell the history of Heliopolis and the aspects and lifestyle of that special period.

And the palace has a tourist services area provided to visitors located in the palace gardens and around the open spaces surrounding it, which includes a cart in a style inspired by the historical nature of the palace and respects the surrounding environment to provide drinks and light food for visitors, a cafeteria and a restaurant with a distinctive style that respects the archaeological environment of the palace to provide a distinctive experience for visitors as it reflects the services and their providers The historical atmosphere of the beginning of the twentieth century, such as old-fashioned uniforms, which imply the period of the palace.

The tourist region is committed to applying the conditions for social separation and the approved health safety requirements.

The palace includes an exhibition of a variety of photos, archival documents, illustrations, maps, and letters to the history of the neighborhood of Heliopolis (Heliopolis and Al-Mataria) across the different eras, in addition to its most important heritage features, and a variety of pictures, maps, documents and films that tell the history of Heliopolis, aspects, and lifestyle in that period Distinctive.

The Baron Palace is built in the style of Indian architecture, founded by the Belgian millionaire Baron Edward Empain, and the palace is located on Al-Oruba Street in Heliopolis, Cairo.
