The first migration of orca whales between Iceland and Italy

Italy: - The Orca Whale Watchers Association in Iceland said: "This is the first ever record of Orca whale migration between Iceland and Italy, in the history of killer whale research, we believe that migrating over 5,200 km of the longest recorded migration route in the world." Commenting on the arrival of a group of five deadly whales, Orca-type, off the port of Genoa in northern Italy.

The group included a calf whale (a small whale) thought to be about a year old, a tunnel at sea off Genoa.

Video footage released by the Coast Guard showed the mother whale trying to carry a dead child before it finally gave up its carcass a few days later.

"There is a high possibility that the orca whales that appeared in Messina are the same ones that appeared in Genoa, but we need some clear pictures to be sure," said Clara Monaco, a marine biologist and scientific director of the Maricamp Association.
