The spokesman for the new administrative capital project, Brig. Khalid Al-Husseini, reported the achievements of the project.
Husseini announced the completion of the "half of the works of the government district", stressing the transfer of all ministries to the new capital in 2020.
Al-Husseini said in an interview with Egyptian news channel "Extra News" that the construction of the concrete structure and the internal divisions in the neighborhood has been completed, adding that the completion rate in the finishing part will be higher than previously.
The spokesman pledged to complete the construction of the government district according to the planned program.
With regard to the rate of completion of residential neighborhoods, Husseini added that the Ministry of Housing has already completed the construction of the third residential neighborhood, and offered units to citizens.
He pointed out that the percentage of completion in the second residential neighborhood exceeded 50%, while the rest of the neighborhoods planned to be completed in the next four years maximum.
The Egyptian President, Abdelfattah Sisi, conducted a few days ago, an inspection tour of a number of projects being implemented in the new capital.
The new administrative capital is an ambitious plan to establish a city 45 kilometers east of Cairo, which was announced in March 2015 during an economic summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh.
