Algeria: Significant livestock losses due to plague

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates:- Algeria has lost thousands of heads of livestock because of the spread of small ruminants and foot-and-mouth disease in Algeria, and livestock owners are in a state of confusion because of lack of vaccines.

The Algerian Interior Ministry said that the small ruminants plague spread in 28 states, causing the closure of markets for fear of marketing rotten meat, in addition to fears of continued spread of the epidemic with the delay of the arrival of the vaccine against him.

The crisis has caused meat prices to rise.
