Netanyahu said: "Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is my dear friend, and in my meetings with him I was surprised by his wisdom, his intelligence and his courage."
"Peace between Israel and Egypt is the cornerstone of regional stability," he said. Netanyahu expressed his "hope to deepen the normalization between Israel and other Arab countries and strengthen the presence of Israeli companies in the Arab markets."
"Egypt is playing a major role in our region, and the Egyptian leadership is showing responsibility every day in Gaza.
This leadership is accompanied by great strength and I hope that we will use them all to advance peace, freedom and equality," said Reuven Rivlin.
Rivlin expressed his hope that the Egyptian and Israeli peoples would live in "lasting peace and cooperation".
"Since the signing of the peace treaty, Israel and Egypt have achieved many achievements together, and relations between the two countries symbolize stability in a region that is experiencing a lot of tension," the Egyptian ambassador to Israel said.
