Daily Times, Dubai United Arab Emirates:- After 20 years of destruction and devastation in Iraq, the US House of Representatives voted to repeal the authorization for the use of military force granted to the president since 2002, which authorized the war on Iraq.

This power was granted to former US President, Republican, George Bush Jr. (2001-2009).

As voting continued, the number of votes in favor of cancellation reached 265 to 162 against.

In order for the repeal to take effect, the measure would have to be endorsed by the Senate, where the prospects are more murky, and President Joe Biden would also have to sign it into law.

President Biden has previously announced that he supports repeal.
