Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates:- The Islamic State Organization claimed responsibility for a series of attacks in the Tunisian capital targeting the police, which resulted in the death of an element of security and the injury of 5 other security personnel.

The Tunisian authorities confirmed that suicide bombers blew themselves up in two separate attacks targeting police in the capital.

A government statement said the first blast killed a security man and wounded several others.

The attacks took place months before the legislative and presidential elections and at the height of the tourist season, which Tunisia hopes to witness a record number of tourists.

The first suicide bomber targeted a security patrol on Charles de Gaulle Street, near the French embassy on Habib Bourguiba Street in the center of the Tunisian capital, where the Interior Ministry reported that a security man was killed and four were wounded, including a security officer.

The second suicide bomber targeted a garage belonging to the Criminal Police Brigade and the terrorist attack in the area of ​​Al-Korjani near the capital.

The Tunisian Ministry of National Defense confirmed that a terrorist group targeted at dawn today the radio and television transmission station in Jabal Arabtia in the city of Gafsa, a station secured by the military.

The attack did not cause human or material damage.
