Daily Times, Dubai United Arab Emirates:- The Philippine military has rescued at least 40 people aboard the military plane that crashed in the southern province of Sulu, in the mountainous village of Patikul.

The plane was carrying soldiers from the southern city of Cagayan de Oro to Solo when it missed the runway and was trying to regain its strength; But it failed and crashed.

While the forces are trying to rescue the rest, local media reported that the crash of the Philippine C-130 plane killed at least 17 people, as it was carrying 85 people.

While initial military reports from the ground showed that the plane was carrying at least 84 soldiers, 3 pilots and 5 crew members, who were coming from Cagayan de Oro, and they were heading to fight the terrorist "Abu Sayyaf" militia in Solo.
