Doctors have warned against excessive consumption of table salt, as it harms human health, and may cause cancer and stroke, according to the famous Russian doctor, Alexander Myasnikov.
Myasnikov said in a television interview: "We consume 12 grams of table salt per day, instead of the prescribed five grams. As for those who suffer from high blood pressure, and those over 50 years of age, they should not consume more than 2.5 grams per day."
He added: "Consuming more salt may have serious consequences."
And the Russian doctor pointed out - according to "Russia Today" - that "excess salt gnaws us and leads to cancer and stroke."
Myasnikov pointed out that after he reduced the consumption of salt in his daily diet; He has less edema.
He added: "Salt can be replaced, while maintaining the level of sodium in the body, with liquid salt that has a high percentage of sodium, however I advise excluding all types of salt from the diet."
