The Daniel Inoue telescope is located in the US state of Hawaii.
The giant telescope needs strong cooling systems to dissipate 13 kilowatts of heat from its main mirror, and it uses accurate optics to compensate for the turbulence it is experiencing and everything that can obscure its vision.
By enlarging the sun’s disk images, the researchers hope to know what causes them to fire flames into space, which could damage satellites, energy and communication networks.
