Saudi Arabia, the largest oil exporter investing in solar energy

Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, plans to invest in solar energy, where it has announced bids for a 300 megawatt solar power plant.
"The opening ceremony is an essential step towards the launch of a promising new industry in the Kingdom that will contribute to the achievement of one of the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and help diversify the local energy mix and build a renewable energy sector with a high level of competitive technology," said Khalid Al Falih.
