Saudi Arabia: Execution of Salman al-Awda, Awad al-Qarni and Ali al-'Umari after Ramadan

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates:- Saudi clerics: Salman al-Awda, Awad al-Qarni and Ali al-'Umari face execution after the end of Ramadan, according to the Middle East Internet site, quoting two government sources and one of their relatives.

Saudi authorities arrested the three preachers and began their trial in secret sessions.

The prosecution demanded that the three preachers be "pardoned" on charges of terrorism.

In a statement issued in Paris, lawyers for the return said in February that they were afraid of his death sentence.

Lawyers Mark Jonan, Francois Zimrai and Jessica Vinel said in a statement issued in Paris that the trial of the sheikh falls within the framework of a policy of judicial persecution by the authorities in Saudi Arabia against intellectuals exercising their right to Freedom of expression and opinion.
