The US technology giant, Google, has decided to block targeted ads within the Google Advertising service as part of the company's efforts to prevent an attempt to influence public opinion in the upcoming parliamentary elections on April 9.
Also, Facebook has announced that it will disclose the names and personal details of advertisers if they also promote election materials to prevent any attempt to influence the election results.
Under Google's decision, according to the Globes website, advertisements for specific people, or subsidies for "re-focus", will be banned in Israel by Google until the end of the Knesset elections.
