The first plane was returning from Alaska's Mystic Fords tourist area, loaded with 10 passengers and a pilot, when it collided with another tourist plane loaded with four people, according to CNN.
Nine passengers survived the first plane of the Takuan Airlines, with the loss of the tenth passenger, while everyone on board the other plane died.
Royal Princess, a tour operator, confirmed that five people died in the accident, while a sixth person was not found.
"We do not expect to find any survivors at this moment," said the head of the region's rescue team, Jerry Kiefer, referring to the likelihood of the death of the missing person.
The survivors were rescued by tourist boats belonging to a Alaska tourist company, which took them out of water to the coast.
Details and causes of the collision remain unknown.
