The 8-storey building collapsed on April 29, 2022 in the central city of Changsha, for reasons that are still unknown.
The search and rescue operations that continued since then resulted in the rescue of 10 people who were trapped under the rubble, the television network quoted local officials as saying.
One of those officials said: "So far, 10 people who were trapped under the rubble have been rescued, and the bodies of 26 people have been found."
The official explained that the last person recovered alive was a woman who was pulled out at dawn on Thursday, after she had been stuck under the rubble for 6 days. According to CCTV, the woman was studying on her bed when the building collapsed, and she managed to survive all this time thanks to some water in her possession and a blanket that protected her from the cold.
According to the official Xinhua News Agency, the woman was fully conscious during her rescue, and even instructed the rescuers on the best way to get her out of the rubble.
Rescuers were able to find the survivors with the help of police dogs, life-signature monitoring devices, and drones, in addition to the traditional means of screaming and making a fuss, according to the agency.
