Daily Times, United Arab Emirates: - A truck loaded with petroleum products collided with a passenger bus on the Asyut-Red Sea road, resulting in the bus burning, killing 20 people and injuring 4 others.

The passenger bus was coming from Cairo heading to Sohag on the eastern desert, then it headed to the Red Sea Road from Assiut to enter Sohag, but it collided with a truck loaded with petroleum products that stopped after it broke down.

According to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics statement issued in June 2020, Egypt annually records thousands of traffic accidents, and the number of accidents witnessed in Egypt in 2019 amounted to 9992 accidents compared to 8,480 accidents in 2018.
